WEEKLY OVERVIEW

JULY 2 | 5: WHEN WE FORGIVE AND LOVE OTHERS, WE SHOW THEM JESUS (LUKE 10:25–37)

• This week, kids will learn that when we forgive and love others, we show them Jesus. Jesus told a story about the Good Samaritan, who chose to love and care for someone that the world ignored.
• Jesus didn’t just tell us to love people—He showed us how to love through the way He lived, served and forgives us. When we forgive others and love people like Jesus, our lives become a powerful witness that points others to Him.

JULY 9 | 12: I NEED GOD’S FORGIVENESS (JOHN 4:1–42)

• This week, we'll learn about Jesus and the woman at the well. Jesus knew everything about the Samaritan woman, including her sins, but He loved her and offered her forgiveness. He came to rescue us from our sin and make a way for us to be forgiven.

• When we put our trust in Jesus, He forgives us and gives us living water, new life with Him.

JULY 16 | 19: I NEED GOD'S COMPASSION (MATTHEW 14; MARK 6; LUKE 9; JOHN 6)

• This week, kids will learn that compassion is recognizing a need and giving help and care. The people in the crowd wanted to learn from Jesus, but they were also really hungry! Jesus miraculously multiplied five loaves of bread and two fish, and the entire crowd ate and were satisfied.
• Jesus gives us everything that we need. We are broken because of our sin, but God showed compassion by sending Jesus so we can be forgiven and have a relationship with Him.

JULY 23 | 26: I NEED GOD’S HOPE (1 KINGS 17:8–16)

• This week, kids will learn about a prophet named Elijah, who needed food because there was a famine in the land. Elijah had hope and trusted God to take care of him, and God worked through a widow to provide food for Elijah.
• Despite his circumstances, Elijah's hope was in God. God showed that He is faithful and worthy of our trust. God sent Jesus on a rescue mission to provide what we need most—forgiveness of our sin and a relationship with Him. Because of Jesus, we can have hope in all circumstances.

EVENTS AND RESOURCES

Join us for the Identity Encounter on July 24–26 at The Eleven22 Retreat Center! The idea of talking to your preteen about delicate topics like sex, gender, and identity can be intimidating for any parent. But here’s the thing: the world is already having those conversations with them and we need to be too. Bring your preteen and come spend two days with your Eleven22 family as we coach you through how to have these conversations and more and then give you time to start them with your preteen! Promotion Weekend is coming up on the weekend of August 6 | 9!
Promotion Weekend is when kids from kindergarten through 5th grade move up to their new age-appropriate disciple groups. We’ll celebrate with a promotion party in their new rooms—complete with fun, discipleship and special Eleven22 Kids swag to help them invite friends to church!
